Child Helpline 1098 and State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA) Collaborate to Raise Awareness on Legal Adoption

In a joint effort aimed at advocating for the rights and well-being of children, the Child Helpline 1098 partnered with the State Adoption Resource Agency (SARA) under the Directorate of Social Welfare to conduct an awareness program at Marina Park. The program, held to raise awareness about legal adoption and the services offered by Child Helpline 1098, showcased a shared commitment to providing stable and nurturing family environments for children in need.

Dr. Nitin Shakya, Director of Social Welfare, emphasized the critical importance of such initiatives in enhancing awareness among children and ensuring they receive timely assistance. He stressed society’s collective responsibility to remain vigilant and responsive to the needs of its youngest members. Dr. Shakya highlighted Child Helpline 1098 as a pivotal step towards fostering a safer environment for all children, emphasizing the necessity of an empowered and educated community in catalyzing positive transformation.

The program commenced with an informative session targeting the general public, shedding light on the importance of legal adoption and providing insights into the adoption process. Attendees were furnished with pamphlets detailing legal adoption procedures and outlining the array of services offered by Child Helpline 1098, ensuring widespread access to crucial information.

In addition to raising awareness, Child Helpline 1098 set up posters and a selfie stand for the general public, inviting attendees to capture moments of support for legal adoption and child welfare. As part of the program, Child Helpline 1098 demonstrated its 24×7 phone service, showcasing its accessibility and responsiveness to children in need of assistance and support.

The program was inaugurated by Ms. Beena Das, Helpline Administrator of CHL-1098, with Mr. Koteshwar Rao, Program Manager of SARA, also in attendance. The initiative highlighted the comprehensive range of services provided by Child Helpline 1098, including counselling, emergency intervention, and rehabilitation support for children in distress. Through proactive engagement and outreach efforts, Child Helpline 1098 and SARA aim to empower individuals and families to navigate the adoption process with confidence and compassion.
