The Child Helpline-1098 (CHL), under the Directorate of Social Welfare, recently organised a series of awareness programs and webinars to highlight its functioning and the vital services it offers to protect children in need.

As part of the campaign, a range of activities were conducted at multiple locations, including Seva Niketan (Child Care Institution) at Dairy Farm, Government Secondary School at South Point, and the WCD Control Room at VIP Road, Junglighat.

These initiatives aimed to educate the public about the services provided by Child Helpline-1098, which offers round-the-clock assistance to children in distress. The campaigns fostered participation from various sections of the community, including students, PRI members, ASHA workers, NGOs, self-help group (SHG) members, and health workers, uniting them in the shared mission to safeguard children’s rights and ensure their well-being.

Child Helpline-1098 operates as a lifeline for children, offering emergency support, counselling, and rescue services. To report any cases of child abuse or children in need of care and protection, citizens are urged to call the toll-free number 1098 immediately.

For further assistance, the Child Helpline team is available 24/7, dedicated to building a safer and more nurturing environment for children.
