In a bid to foster a sense of trust and understanding between the younger generation and law enforcement, Police Station Campbell Bay, under the guidance of Mr. Firoj Alam, SDPO, Campbell Bay, has introduced a unique program titled ‘Children Police Dialogue’. The initiative, launched on 29th of July 2023 at Mini Stadium, Campbell Bay, during the inauguration ceremony of AC Cup Season I – Football Tournament, aims to bridge the gap between the police and the youth.

With crime and criminals constantly evolving in the rapidly developing world, it has become essential for the police to engage with the community and ensure a safer civil society. The ‘Children Police Dialogue’ program seeks to address the common fear and apprehension that children often feel towards law enforcement officials, fostering a positive and open relationship between them.

One of the primary reasons for children’s fear of uniformed personnel, particularly the police, can be attributed to childhood experiences and stories perpetuated by parents. These negative portrayals often hinder children from viewing the police as protectors and role models. The initiative plans to offer school students regular visits to PS Campbell Bay, where they will gain insights into the police force’s workings and learn valuable techniques to stay safe in their daily lives.

The ever-expanding digital world has made it crucial for young minds to be aware of the potential risks posed by the cyber realm. By involving the police in guiding them through the complexities of the cyber world, children can become better equipped to navigate its challenges safely.

The ‘Children Police Dialogue’ program is meticulously designed to instill confidence and trust among youngsters, encouraging them to approach law enforcement when in need without hesitation. By breaking down barriers and misconceptions, the police hope to build a lasting bond with the future generation, ultimately fostering a safer and more harmonious community.
