In a dedicated effort to clamp down on illegal activities, the police carried out a decisive raid on a gambling den located in Dollygunj Basti, resulting in the apprehension of five individuals involved in unlawful gambling practices.
The operation, executed on the 2nd of January 2024 by a specialised team from the CID Unit, culminated in the successful busting of the illicit gambling den and the arrest of the five individuals engaged in gambling activities. A sum of Rs. 15,260/- in stake money was seized during the raid, bolstering the crackdown on the unlawful pursuit.
The detainees have been formally charged under Section 5/7 of the Andaman and Nicobar Gambling Regulation 1951. The raid was conducted under the astute leadership of Dy.SP(CID), with the overarching supervision of Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, IPS, SP (CID), ensuring a swift and effective operation.
