In a major step towards tackling mental health challenges and curbing drug abuse, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) under the Government of India has called on citizens to actively utilise two dedicated helplines launched through the MANAS (Madak Padarth Nishedh Asuchna Kendra) Portal.

The initiative offers a 24×7, user-friendly platform that empowers individuals to either seek mental health support or report drug-related activities. Citizens can reach out for mental health assistance via Helpline Nos. 14416 or 1-800-891-4416, while narcotics-related information can be reported through Helpline No. 1933.

The MANAS Portal, developed by NCB New Delhi, acts as a bridge between the public and law enforcement agencies, allowing users to report incidents such as drug peddling, trafficking, or to seek help for drug abuse and de-addiction. The portal can be accessed online at https://ncbmanas.gov.in.

The Andaman and Nicobar Police has urged the public to make responsible use of these services to protect communities and contribute to creating a safer, healthier environment across the islands. Authorities emphasized that public cooperation is key in the collective fight for a mentally healthy and drug-free India.
