As part of the campaign for the 10th Andaman & Nicobar State Conference of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) and to protest against the recently notified anti-worker Labour Codes, CITU organized a bike rally on 30th November 2025 across Sri Vijaya Puram and rural areas of South Andaman.
The rally began at Delanipur Junction and concluded at Bambooflat Jetty, passing through key locations in Sri Vijaya Puram town and surrounding rural areas. At various stops along the route, prominent CITU leaders addressed participants, highlighting the implications of the four Labour Codes notified by the central government on 21st November 2025.
Speaking to the rally, CITU leaders B. Chandrachoodan, R. Surendran Pillai, D. Ayyappan, and S.P. Kalairajan accused the Modi government of attempting to curtail the rights and benefits currently enjoyed by workers across the country.
The rally saw participation from a large number of workers and was led by CITU officials along with leaders of various unions, including Shyamal Koley, Anand Rajan, M. Yugander, K. Lakshman, Sharfudeen, and Jagdhan.
