CLF Arong Car Nicobar Conducts Pig Management Training for Farmers

In a bid to promote sustainable livestock practices and enhance rural livelihoods, the Central Livestock Farm (CLF), Arong, Car Nicobar under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services (AH&VS), organized a comprehensive training program on pig management in Car Nicobar on July 4. The program drew participants from various villages across the island.

The training aimed to equip local farmers with scientific knowledge and practical skills to improve pig farming practices. Key topics covered during the sessions included scientific farm layout, breeding management, feeding techniques, first aid and health care, and value addition in pork production.

The initiative is part of the AH&VS Department’s ongoing efforts to strengthen animal husbandry across the Union Territory and promote self-reliance among rural communities. By introducing efficient and sustainable farming methods, the department seeks to boost productivity and support the economic development of the region.

Participants welcomed the initiative and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to gain hands-on knowledge and adopt improved farming techniques to enhance their livelihoods.
