The crackdown on drug trafficking in Andaman and Nicobar Islands saw another breakthrough as the PS Central Crime Station arrested Kuldeep Singh, a key suspect connected to the recent seizure of 32.83 grams of Methamphetamine. This arrest marks a significant step in the ongoing efforts to dismantle drug networks operating in the region.
Kuldeep Singh, aged 27 and a resident of Goalghar, was apprehended on December 4, 2023, under the NDPS Act 1985. The arrest follows meticulous investigations that uncovered compelling evidence linking Singh to drug consumption and distribution, particularly targeting the younger population at lucrative prices.
Interrogation revealed crucial insights into Singh’s involvement in both drug consumption and its illegal trade. His appearance before the Court on December 5 resulted in the police obtaining his custody remand for further interrogation. Authorities aim to delve deeper into Singh’s connections, identify the source of the narcotics, and uncover potential accomplices.
Andaman and Nicobar Police reiterated their unwavering commitment to combat drug trafficking, emphasising the importance of public cooperation in this endeavour. They encouraged the community to actively share any pertinent information related to drug-related activities, emphasising the role of citizen participation in curbing this menace.
