Andaman & Nicobar Administration has taken a significant step towards sustainable management by entrusting the National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM), Chennai, with the task of formulating the Integrated Island Management Plan (IIMP) for Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Dweep (NSCB Dweep). This initiative aligns with the Island Coastal Regulation Zone (ICRZ) Notification of 2019, aimed at enhancing environmental preservation and responsible development in coastal regions.

NCSCM has diligently compiled the draft IIMP, Coastal Land Use Map, and Geomorphology Map for NSCB Dweep, which are now open for public scrutiny and feedback. These crucial documents have been made accessible through the websites of the A&N Administration and the Department of Environment & Forest, A&N Administration. Additionally, soft copies are available across various governmental offices, facilitating widespread participation in the review process.

Stakeholders, including residents, businesses, and environmental organisations, are encouraged to contribute their insights, suggestions, and observations regarding the proposed plans and maps. Concerned parties are requested to submit their feedback, along with details of existing or proposed projects, within a 10-year timeframe, in geo-referenced shape files (ArcGIS/Shape File/KML Format). This feedback mechanism aims to ensure that the IIMP reflects the diverse needs and aspirations of the local community while adhering to regulatory guidelines outlined in the ICRZ Notification, 2019.

Comments, objections, and suggestions can be submitted to the Office of APCCF (CRZ&FC) at Van Sadan, Haddo, Port Blair, or via email at apccfcrzfc.an@and.nic.in. The deadline for submissions is set at 30 days from the date of this press release.
