Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC) organized the ‘Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan Rally’ on 04th January 2025, following directives from the All India Congress Committee (AICC). The rally was a protest against the BJP, accusing the party of insulting freedom fighters and undermining the Constitution.

Led by ANTCC President Mr. Rangalal Halder and Campaign Committee Chairman Mr. TSG Bhasker, Congress workers gathered in large numbers to voice their opposition. The march began at Gandhi Bhawan, proceeded to the Clock Tower, and returned to its starting point. Along the route, Congress leaders paid floral tributes to the statues of Mahatma Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

The rally condemned Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s recent remarks in the Rajya Sabha, which the Congress claimed were disrespectful to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The party leaders demanded Amit Shah’s resignation, reaffirming their commitment to preserving the legacies of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Ambedkar, rooted in justice and equality.

Several senior Congress leaders, including AICC members, Territorial Congress Committee (TCC) members, Block Congress Committee (BCC) members, and representatives from various frontal organisations, departments, and local bodies, participated in the event.

Speaking at the rally, the Congress leaders emphasised the importance of safeguarding the Constitution and standing against any attempt to erode the values of India’s freedom fighters.
