Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee today organised a Candle March from Gandhi Bhavan to Vidyut Bhavan to protest against the frequent power cuts in South Andaman District.
The Candle March saw the participation of a large number of Congress leaders including Mr. Rangalal Halder, State President, ANTCC and Mr. G Bhasker, Campaign Committee Chairman, ANTCC.
Leaders of the congress carried an effigy on a funeral bier with the words Electricity written on it, as a mark of protest towards the frequent power cuts in South Andaman District.
After reaching Vidyut Bhavan the leaders of the congress shouted slogans against the Electricity Department and frequent power cuts.
Senior leaders of the congress also met the Superintendent Engineer, Electricity Department at Vidyut Bhavan and submitted a memorandum.
