The Andaman & Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee President, Mr. Rangalal Halder, has raised serious concern over the ongoing power crisis in South Andaman, calling upon the Administration to take urgent steps to end the frequent and prolonged load shedding being faced by residents.

In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Mr. Halder stated that the recurrent power cuts have caused severe inconvenience to the public, disrupting the lives of students, patients, business owners, and daily wage earners alike. He also emphasized that essential services are being adversely affected due to the unreliable electricity supply.

Highlighting the growing public frustration, Mr. Halder noted that despite repeated assurances from the authorities, there has been no tangible improvement in the situation. He urged the Administration to implement permanent and effective measures to ensure uninterrupted electricity across the South Andaman District.

The Congress leader further cautioned that if the issue is not resolved within 15 days, the party would be compelled to organise a large-scale public protest and a Bandh to voice the people’s grievances and demand accountability from the Administration.
