Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee today staged dharnas across many places in Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The dharna was organised to oppose the Central Govt. Policies and a list of local issues were also included by the ANTCC.
The dharna saw participation from a large number of Congress workers and supporters. Some of the local issues in the list of demands released by the ANTCC includes revival of Pradesh Council, job reservation for Islanders, improvement in Inter-Island shipping services, repair of roads, improving the power supply, Improvement in internet connectivity etc.
The Congress leaders also lashed out at the Administration and its policies. A press conference was hosted by the ANTCC yesterday wherein the scribes were told that Congress under the leadership of Mr. Rangalal Haldar, President, ANTCC and Mr. G Bhasker, Chairman, Campaign Committee will fight against the administration for all the wrongdoings and get justice for the people.
The new leadership of the Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee is trying to revive the party in the Islands and the mass dharna seems to be the first step in the direction.
