The anticipation rises as the Central Election Committee (CEC) of the Indian National Congress convened today in New Delhi to deliberate on potential candidates for various parliamentary constituencies, including Andaman and Nicobar. Among the attendees was Mr. Rangalal Halder, President of the Andaman and Nicobar Territorial Congress Committee (ANTCC), adding local representation to the discussions.
Of significant interest are Mr. Kuldeep Rai Sharma, the incumbent Member of Parliament from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and Mr. TSG Bhasker, the Campaign Committee Chairperson for ANTCC, both vying for the Andaman and Nicobar Parliamentary Constituency Seat.
However, as of 19:30 Hrs on March 19, 2024, Congress has yet to officially declare its candidate for the constituency. The suspense lingers as the public eagerly awaits the announcement, which is expected to be made on March 20, 2024.
In contrast, several other parties, including the BJP, CPIM, BSP, ANJP, and ANDC, have already finalised their candidates for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Parliamentary Constituency. Campaigning by these candidates has commenced, setting the stage for a competitive electoral battle in the region.
With the political landscape in flux and campaigns gaining momentum, the declaration of Congress’s candidate is anticipated to inject further fervour into the electoral dynamics of Andaman and Nicobar.
