Laxmi Nagar Gram Panchayat of Great Nicobar Island will soon get a new & modern office building. The construction work for the new building began on 18th May 2022 with Bhoomi Poojan.
The work is being executed by Andaman Public Works Department through a contractor and is expected to be completed in the next one year.
Bhoomi Poojan for the said work was conducted in the presence of Mr. Prahlad Singh, Pradhan, Laxmi Nagar Gram Panchayat; Assistant Engineer, APWD and the contractor.
Laxmi Nagar Panchayat is the Southernmost Panchayat of India. The new office building for the Panchayat is being constructed at the Laxmi Nagar Village located at 24 Km on the North-South Road (SH-2).
Mr. E.S Rajesh, Pramukh, Panchayat Samiti, Campbell Bay had pushed hard for the building to be constructed during his tenure as the Pradhan of Laxmi Nagar GP.
