The residents of Car Nicobar have been demanding construction of a Sea Wall at Mus Village to prevent land erosion. Land erosion at Car Nicobar is the cause of a lot of problems. The draft of the Mus Jetty is also reportedly rapidly decreasing due to soil deposit. PM Narendra Modi during his visit to Car Nicobar on 30th December 2018 laid foundation stone for construction of sea wall to protect the land at Car Nicobar from erosion. The construction of the sea wall has not yet started.
