The consumers of the Electricity Department, Andaman and Nicobar Islands often complain of sub-standard services. Many parts of the South Andaman District were plagued by frequent power cuts in the past. Residents often in the past have complained that their grievances are not being handled properly by the department.
The power situation in South Andaman District has considerably improved, but the problem still largely persists in some areas.
A Consumer Grievance Redressal Forum (CGRF) has been constituted under the Electricity Act, 2003 for the redressal of grievances towards all types of complaints related to the services of the Electricity Department.
The electricity consumers having any complaints or grievances may lodge their complaint in writing, either in person, by email or by post to the address, The Chairperson, Electricity CGRF, A&N Islands, Haddo (PO), Horticulture Road, Port Blair – 744102, Phone & Fax No.: 03192-244822, Email: cgrf.and@nic.m/andcgrf@rediffmail.com. In case the complaint has been sent through Email hard copy has to be submitted within 05 Days.
