Crackdown on Illegal Alcohol Trade: Aberdeen Police Seizes 169 Bottles in Raid

In a significant operation targeting the illegal sale and possession of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), Aberdeen Police made a decisive move, apprehending an individual and seizing a cache of 169 IMFL bottles, including 112 bottles of 650 ML beer. The successful arrest and seizure were the outcome of credible information and a meticulously executed operation led by Inspector Girish Kumar, SHO PS Aberdeen.

The operation unfolded on November 21st, 2023, following actionable intelligence received by the Aberdeen Police regarding an individual stockpiling a substantial quantity of IMFL and beer bottles at Fishermen Colony, Junglighat. Acting swiftly, a precise raid was orchestrated by a dedicated team, comprising HC/Vinod Kumar, PCs/Jagdish Babu, Jayraj, Surender Singh Yadav, Naw Eleen, and PC(Dvr.)/Sudeep Kumar, culminating in the arrest of a female suspect at her residence in Fishermen Colony, Junglighat. The arrested individual faces charges under the Excise Regulation, and a case has been registered against her at the Aberdeen Police Station.

The entire operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Sunny Gupta, IPS, Sub Divisional Police Officer, South Andaman, and the overarching guidance of Mr. Kalaivanan R., IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.

A plea has been made to the general public to come forward and share any information related to criminal activities or illegal practices with the Police, emphasising contact through 112, 03192-232100, 03192-233077 & 03192-232400. The confidentiality of informants will be strictly maintained.

The Aberdeen Police’s proactive stance against the illegal alcohol trade stands as a testament to their commitment to maintaining law and order, urging community participation in curbing such unlawful activities.
