CRC-A&N Islands Launches Free Coaching Scheme for Economically Disadvantaged PwMDs

Composite Regional Centre for Persons with Disabilities (CRC-A&N Islands), under the administrative control of the National Institute of Empowerment of Persons with Multiple Disabilities (Divyangjan), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, has announced a new Free Coaching Scheme for Persons with Multiple Disabilities (PwMDs). The scheme, based at CRC, Brookshabad, aims to support economically disadvantaged students with disabilities in preparing for competitive examinations.

The Free Coaching Scheme is designed to provide coaching to students with at least 40% disability and a total family income of Rs. 8 lakhs or less per annum. Eligible candidates will receive assistance to help them succeed in competitive exams conducted by various bodies, including the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), Banking/Insurance sectors, Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), and CLAT. The ultimate goal is to help these students secure appropriate jobs in the Government, Public, or Private sectors.

CRC-A&N Islands has invited applications from students with Intellectual Disabilities (ID), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD), Mental Illness (MI), and Multiple Disabilities (MD) who wish to benefit from this initiative. 

To apply, students must submit several documents: HSC/Degree Certificate, Unique Disability ID (UDID)/Enrolment Number, Aadhaar Card, Caste Certificate, Bank Details, Income Certificate, Nativity Certificate, and two photographs. Applications must be submitted on plain paper along with the required documents by June 30, 2024, to CRC-A&N Islands.
