Crescent Public School, Wimberly Gunj, celebrated its Annual Day, Crescendo 2026, with grandeur and cultural vibrance at the Mini Stadium, Wimberly Gunj, on January 10, 2026. The programme commenced at 4:00 pm and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, parents, and members of the local community.
The event was inaugurated by Mr. Shabu K. Thomas, IFS, Conservator of Forests (Headquarters), who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Dr. Manoharan, Deputy Education Officer (DEO), Wimberly Gunj Zone, attended as the Guest of Honour. PRI members of Ferrar Gunj Tehsil were also present on the occasion.
Mrs. M. Saida, Manager of Crescent Public School, delivered the welcome address, extending greetings to the dignitaries and audience while reflecting on the school’s progress and achievements.
The gathering was formally welcomed by Mr. M. Abdul Majeed, President of Crescent Public School, who presented a bouquet to the Chief Guest. The Principal of the school offered a floral welcome to the Guest of Honour.
Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Mr. Shabu K. Thomas highlighted the importance of education that fosters creativity alongside cultural identity. He remarked that art, culture, and education together play a vital role in shaping confident and responsible future leaders. Guest of Honour Dr. Manoharan, in his address, stressed the need for balancing academics with co-curricular activities to ensure the holistic development of students.
Mr. M. K. Mohammed, Secretary of the School, in his message to the students, emphasised character-building as the core purpose of education, stating that values and responsibility are as important as knowledge in shaping the future generation.
The Annual Report was presented by Mrs. N. Bhavani Vijayakala, Principal of the school, highlighting academic accomplishments, student participation in co-curricular activities, teacher training initiatives, and future plans for institutional growth. The first session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. P. Mujib Rehman, Managing Committee Member.
The second session featured a vibrant cultural programme that captivated the audience. The performances began with a classical dance and continued with skits, songs, and a mix of traditional and contemporary dance forms, showcasing the rich cultural diversity of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Mrs. Rehana Bibi, In-charge, Primary Section, who expressed gratitude to the staff, students, parents, and community members for their support in making the event a grand success.
Crescendo 2026 stood as a testament to Crescent Public School’s continued commitment to academic excellence, character-building, and cultural enrichment.
