The 23rd Annual Athletic Meet of Crescent Senior Secondary School took place with great enthusiasm and participation at the Mini Stadium, Wimberly Gunj, on 4th January 2025. The event was graced by several distinguished guests and featured a series of vibrant performances that showcased the spirit of sportsmanship and school pride.
The inaugural ceremony saw Mr. Vikram Singh, DANICS, Director of Education and Sports, as the Chief Guest. He officially declared the athletic meet open after lighting the ceremonial torch. Dr. Manoharan, Deputy Education Officer for the Wimberly Gunj Zone, attended as the Guest of Honor. Ms. N. Bhavani Vijayakala, Principal of Crescent Senior Secondary School, welcomed the attendees.
Students from Classes II to VIII added a colourful touch to the event with lively dance performances and a well-choreographed aerobic drill, celebrating the diversity of Indian culture. Mr. Vikram Singh, in his address, applauded the students for their dedication and sportsmanship, stressing the importance of incorporating both sports and Yoga into daily routines. He also distributed prizes to the winners of various athletic events.
The inaugural session was followed by a Vote of Thanks by Mr. P. Mujib Rehman, Manager of Crescent Senior Secondary School, and a memento of appreciation was presented to Mr. Vikram Singh by MK Mohammed, Secretary of the school.
The closing ceremony, held later in the day, was presided over by Mr. P. Abdul Basheer, Pradhan of Gram Panchayat Kanyapuram, with Mr. Rizwan Hassan, SHO of Bambooflat Police Station, attending as the Guest of Honour. The event culminated with the awarding of prizes to individual champions among boys and girls, along with the overall championship trophy, which was claimed by the Andaman Serpent Eagle House.
In a symbolic gesture, Mr. P. Abdul Basheer brought the meet to a close by lowering the athletic meet flag, officially marking the conclusion of the event. The athletic meet was a resounding success, demonstrating the school’s commitment to fostering talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship among its students.
