Insignia the Cruise Ship owned by Oceania Cruises today called at Port Blair with 450 tourists onboard. The ship reached Port Blair this morning. The last port of call by the ship was at Colombo in Sri Lanka.

The Ship will depart for Indonesia this evening.

The visiting tourists from the Cruise Ship were accorded a warm traditional welcome by the Tourism Department at the Haddo Port.

Mr. M Vinod, President, Andaman Association of Tour Operators termed the visit of Insignia as a piece of good news for Andaman.

The local tourism industry stakeholders have been demanding adequate infrastructure and facilities for Cruise Tourism in Andaman and Nicobar Islands, but very little has been done to promote cruise, yacht, and other forms of high-value tourism in the Islands.
