Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, State Vice President, Bharatiya Janata Party, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Zilla Parishad Member (Govind Nagar/Campbell Bay) met Mr. Keshav Chandra, Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Islands and requested him to provide one time age relaxation for the recruitment to Group B (NG) posts recently advertised by APWD.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh informed the Chief Secretary that there are many unemployed Engineers and Architects in the Islands who have crossed their upper age limit as no recruitment was done during the last two years due to COVID-19. The upper age limit for recruitment to Group B (NG) posts of APWD was earlier set at 30 Years of age (as on date of closing of the application).
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh informed Nicobar Times, that the Chief Secretary understood the pain of the qualified unemployed Islanders and immediately agreed to provide the necessary age relaxation for recruitment to Group B (NG) posts advertised by APWD.
The issue was brought to the attention of Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh by Mr. Ranjit Kumar Raveendran, a dynamic young leader of Bharatiya Janata Party, Nicobar District.
Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh has thanked the Chief Secretary for his proactive response on the issues brought forward before him.
