CS&CA Department Extends Deadline for e-KYC Update of Ration Card Beneficiaries

Sri Vijaya Puram, 27 September 2024

The Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (CS&CA) has announced an extension for updating e-KYC details for left-out ration card beneficiaries. The new deadline has been set for October 31, 2024, giving beneficiaries additional time to complete their e-KYC requirements.

Despite continuous efforts and multiple requests, a significant number of beneficiaries under the APL, AAY, and PHH categories have not yet updated their e-KYC details. These beneficiaries are urged to visit their nearest Fair Price Shop, the Department of CS&CA, or the respective Supply Units operating in inter-island areas to complete the process.

The department has issued a final reminder to all those who have not yet completed the e-KYC update, emphasising that failure to do so by October 31, 2024, will result in the concerned ration card members being considered as bogus. Necessary action, in line with the relevant rules, will be initiated against them.

Beneficiaries are required to bring their Aadhaar numbers to update the e-KYC for all family members listed on their ration cards. For convenience, they can also visit the Directorate of CS&CA at Room No. 20 in Sri Vijay Puram or approach their respective Supply Units for assistance. Lists of left-out beneficiaries have been made available at all Fair Price Shops for public reference.

In a related development, the department highlighted a unique issue affecting many AAY and PHH category children aged between 1 and 17 years. These children are unable to complete their e-KYC because their Aadhaar enrolment was done before they turned five, and an update is now required.

To address this, such beneficiaries are requested to visit their nearest Aadhaar enrolment centres for immediate updates. The department is also organising ongoing Aadhaar camps to facilitate this process. For children aged between 1 and 17 years, Aadhaar updates can be completed at the Directorate of CS&CA as well.

For any further assistance or inquiries, beneficiaries can contact the toll-free number 03192-230337.
