Customers Allege, Adulterated Petrol being Sold at IOCL Retail Outlet Campbell Bay

Customers who have recently purchased fuel from the IOCL retail outlet at Campbell Bay in the last two days are facing issues with their vehicles. The vehicles of the customers are not functioning normally and are exhibiting starting issue, even when the vehicle start, the engines are not producing power properly. The vehicles are exhibiting sudden powerlessness as if the fuel is not reaching the engines.

Customers have alleged that their vehicles are not functioning properly because of adulterated petrol being sold at the Indian Oil Corporation Retail Outlet at Campbell Bay. The dealership of the Campbell Bay Retail Outlet of Indian Oil Corporation Limited is with Andaman and Nicobar Islands Integrated Development Corporation Limited (ANIDCO).

Some customers allege that diesel has been mixed with petrol in the fuel being sold at the IOCL Retail Outlet at Campbell Bay. 

It is also being reported that some customers have also complained about the adulteration of petrol with the authorities at  Police Station Campbell Bay. After the intervention of the police, the complainants were given new fuel from the barrels of petrol kept at the retail outlet.

Nicobar Times has also received several complaints from the residents of Great Nicobar, who are facing problems with their vehicles after purchasing petrol from the lone petrol pump (IOCL Retail Outlet) at Campbell Bay.

Customers have also informed Nicobar Times that the Manager of the IOCL Retail Outlet, Campbell Bay is also refusing to empty their petrol tanks and refill it with fresh petrol.

The allegation levelled by the customers on the IOCL Retail Outlet, Campbell Bay is serious and needs to be investigated. Several vehicles are developing the same kind of problems at the same time, which gives substance to the allegations of the customers.

Nicobar Times will also investigate the issue by requesting a filter paper test of the petrol being sold at IOCL Retail Outlet, Campbell Bay, tomorrow morning. 

“There is a high chance that the allegation of the customers is true and if that is the case, then IOCL and ANIDCO should replace the adulterated fuel of every customer and should also pay the charges for repairs and spares, for all vehicles which have developed issues because of using the petrol purchased from their retail outlet.” said an angry customer while speaking to Nicobar Times this evening.

Nicobar Times was not able to obtain a reaction from the officials of IOCL at Port Blair today. Update on this story will be published tomorrow with complete details after gathering more inputs.
