Cyclists from Andaman & Nicobar Islands Shines at 37th National Games – 2023

The Cyclists from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands continue to dazzle at the ongoing 37th National Games-2023 hosted by Goa, showcasing their exceptional skill and performance. On November 4, 2023, both the Men’s and Women’s Cyclists contributed to the Islands’ medal tally by securing Silver and Bronze in team events.

In the Men’s Team Sprint, the trio of Gaurav Mondal, Paul Collingwood, and David Beckham put up a stellar performance, securing the Silver medal. Meanwhile, in the Women’s team sprint, a formidable team comprising Deborah, Nikita, and Celestina grabbed the Bronze Medal.

David Beckham’s individual achievements have also been noteworthy during the competition. On November 3, he clinched the Silver Medal in the Men’s elite Sprint category, further adding to his impressive run at the National Games.

David Beckham had earlier set the stage on fire on November 2, 2023, by winning the Gold in the 1000 Mtr. Individual Time trial. He displayed exceptional speed, clocking a remarkable time of 01:02:197 at an astonishing speed of 57.88 Km/h. Additionally, on the same day in the 500 Mtr Individual Time Trial, Celestina secured a Silver Medal with an impressive time of 36.698 and a speed of 49.05 Km/h.

The outstanding performance by the athletes from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands has earned them well-deserved appreciation from sports enthusiasts. With their remarkable achievements, there are high hopes for many more medals for the Islands in the upcoming events at the 37th National Games-2023.
