The Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (DAH&VS) conducted a series of Artificial Insemination (AI) awareness camps across Gram Panchayats Rampur, Chainpur, Pahalgaon and Kishori Nagar, under the jurisdiction of the Veterinary Hospital, Webi. The initiative aimed to promote scientific cattle breeding and enhance rural livelihoods.

During the camps, Senior Veterinary Officers Dr. Sujata Hedge and Dr. Bhojane Nagnath Martand briefed farmers on the wide-ranging benefits of Artificial Insemination. They also sensitized participants to key livestock management practices, including accurate heat detection, timely insemination, balanced nutrition, routine deworming, and comprehensive herd health care — all essential for improving conception rates and ensuring healthier progeny.

Repeat-breeding cattle brought by farmers were examined on-site, treated accordingly, and provided with tailored technical advice. In addition, deworming medicines were distributed to cattle, goats and pigs as part of the broader livestock health support initiative.
