Students pursuing B.Tech at DBRAIT protested in front of the Secretariat Gate today. The students demanded to meet the Chief Secretary to explain their plight to him. The students informed Nicobar Times that the University Exams of Pondicherry University is starting soon, but they have not received the hall tickets and the college has not provided them with any information regarding the exams.
The students further explained that the future of about 328 students is at stake. Students from 1st Year, 2nd Year, 3rd Year and 4th Year (only Lateral Entry) participated in the protest.
Later a delegation of students met the Chief Secretary. The students explained their problems to the CS and the CS assured them that he will try his level best to solve the issue. Students informed that the CS said, that he will speak to the authorities of the Govt. of India and to the Chief Secretary of Puducherry regarding this issue.
Students also informed that the CS was fully aware of the issue.
Later the students met the Secretary (Education), A & N Administration and she informed them that, the administration has spoken to the authorities of Pondicherry University and their response was much more positive this time than before.
The students have planned to meet the Secretary (Education) the day after tomorrow for an update on the issue.
