Ms. Purva Garg, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman, conducted a field visit to various locations in Ferrargunj Tehsil as part of the District Administration’s ongoing efforts to strengthen infrastructure and ensure effective implementation of developmental initiatives.
The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Ms. Pallavi Sarkar, IAS, Secretary (Agriculture), Mr. Kamaleshwar Rao, IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, South Andaman, and the Assistant Director (Agriculture). Mr. V.K. Abdul Aziz, Zilla Parishad Member from Bindraban Constituency, was also present during the inspection.
During the visit, the team inspected the Rubber Board plantation land at Bindraban village, which has been identified as having significant potential for the development of community-centric infrastructure. The Zilla Parishad Member proposed several developmental works at the site, including the construction of a mini children’s park, a cycle park, a badminton court, and two ponds.
Emphasising the importance of planned and sustainable development, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned technical officials, including the Junior Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Junior Engineer of the Panchayati Raj Institution (PRI), to conduct a joint field inspection. The officials have been tasked with assessing the technical feasibility of the proposed projects to ensure optimal and holistic utilisation of the land.
The field visit underscores the District Administration’s commitment to closely monitoring development works and enhancing public infrastructure to improve the quality of life for residents in the region.
