The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), under the aegis of the District Administration, South Andaman, in collaboration with PANKH NGO, successfully conducted a three-day Summer Camp for children from Child Care Institutions across the district. The camp was held from June 12 to 14, 2025, at Seva Niketan, Dairy Farm, Sri Vijaya Puram.

The initiative aimed to foster the emotional, social, and physical well-being of children in a safe, engaging, and empowering environment. A total of 36 children participated in the camp, which featured a series of thoughtfully designed sessions and activities.

A key highlight of the camp was an inspiring life skills session conducted by Swami Shuddhanand of Chinmaya Mission. To encourage physical fitness and teamwork, certified Zumba instructor Ms. Pooja Biswas led energetic Zumba and interactive games sessions. Additionally, Ms. Rajini, a trained Yoga Therapist, introduced the children to Sujok therapy—an alternative healing method based on the principles of acupressure and acupuncture.

The District Administration, South Andaman, reaffirmed its commitment to supporting children’s growth and development through such inclusive and collaborative initiatives, aiming to create nurturing spaces where every child has the opportunity to thrive. (Story Based on PR)
