The Department of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs has announced an extension of the deadline for the e-KYC process for all left-out members listed in Ration Cards across UT of A & N Islands until February 29, 2024. This decision aims to facilitate the convenience of the members listed in the ration cards who have yet to undergo the e-KYC procedure.
As per the directives from the Government of India, the Department has initiated the e-KYC process for all members listed on the Ration Cards. In light of this extension, the Department urges all left-out Ration Card members, including Above Poverty Line (APL), Priority Households (PHH), and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) beneficiaries, who have not completed their e-KYC for any reason, to take necessary action.
To undergo the e-KYC process, all members listed in the Ration Cards are advised to visit their nearest Fair Price Shop (FPS) with their Aadhaar numbers and Ration Cards. Alternatively, they can approach the Directorate of Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs in Port Blair or their respective Supply Units to complete the e-KYC for all listed members.
Furthermore, FPS dealers have been strongly urged to disseminate this information widely among Ration Card holders and ensure the completion of e-KYC procedures by February 29, 2024. FPS owners are strictly instructed not to deny e-KYC services to any Ration Card holder, irrespective of the Fair Price Shop they belong to. Additionally, withholding ration articles due to non-completion of e-KYC is prohibited, and strict action will be taken by the department against any such denial.
For further information and details, individuals can contact Mr. Nitin Biswas, CSI, at Contact No. 9476009090, or utilise the Toll-Free No. 03192-230337.
This extended deadline serves as an opportunity for all eligible Ration Card members to comply with the e-KYC process and ensure continued access to essential ration articles without any disruption.
