A delegation of the members of Industrial Entrepreneurs Association along with Mr. Bishnu Pada Ray, Ex-Member of Parliament, Andaman and Nicobar Islands met Mr. Keshav Chandra, Chief Secretary, Andaman and Nicobar Administration on 22nd November 2022. The delegation met the Chief Secretary to request him to provide One Time Relaxation to various Industrial Units functioning in Industrial Estates across the Islands.
Many Industrial Units functioning in Industrial Estates across Andaman and Nicobar Islands were given notices and cancellation orders from August 2021 – October 2021, due to various reasons. Some Industrial Units were also sealed by the department.
Most of these units were functioning and employing the local youths of the area.
The entrepreneurs who have established these units have invested their valuable time and capital to develop their businesses. Several of these units have been financed by the banks and the entrepreneurs and their employees are facing difficult times.
The delegation explained their problems to the Chief Secretary in detail and requested him to provide One Time Relaxation to all the Industrial Units which have been given notices and cancellation orders. The delegation also requested that the units which have been sealed may also be opened so that the entrepreneurs and their employees can both earn their living.
