Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services successfully organized a comprehensive Mass Deworming Camp at Salu Tekry in Katchal, Nicobar District. This initiative aimed to enhance the health and wellbeing of local livestock and pets by targeting and eliminating parasitic worms.
During the camp, a significant number of animals received deworming treatment. A total of 56 goats, 120 poultry birds, and 9 canines were administered the necessary medication to rid them of parasitic infestations.
The event extended beyond just deworming treatments. It also served as an educational platform for local farmers and pet owners. Experts provided valuable information on the importance of regular deworming, as well as guidance on proper animal care and effective management practices. This educational component was crucial in promoting long-term health and productivity among the local animal population.
The initiative underscores the commitment of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services to improving animal health and supporting the local community through proactive measures and educational outreach.
