In commemoration of the first anniversary of the renaming of 21 islands after Param Veer Chakra (PVC) Awardees, the Department of Art & Culture, A&N Administration, is set to organize a series of awareness activities, including programs and competitions, to highlight the exceptional valour of the awardees.
One of the key events scheduled for January 20, 2024, is “Veer Gaatha” – a poetic tribute dedicated to PVC Awardees. As part of this event, the department has invited applications from budding writers and poets who wish to contribute their poems. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit their entries via email to artand.culture@and.nic.in. Only selected poems will be presented during the event.
Additionally, a Mobile Film Making competition will be held, focusing on the theme of PVC Awardees. Participants are required to create films with a duration not exceeding 2 minutes, ensuring high-definition quality and original content. The deadline for submission of entries through email is January 19, 2024. The winners of the competition will receive suitable prizes in recognition of their creative contributions.
This initiative aims to foster awareness and appreciation for the valour of the PVC Awardees, honouring their bravery and sacrifice. The week-long celebration seeks to engage the community in various artistic expressions, fostering a sense of pride and patriotism.
