The Department of Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs (CS & CA) has extended the deadline for ration card beneficiaries who have not yet updated their e-KYC details. Initially set for July 31, 2024, the new deadline has been pushed to October 31, 2024, offering additional time for those left out to comply with the mandatory update.
Despite repeated notifications and efforts, a significant number of beneficiaries under the APL (Above Poverty Line), AAY (Antyodaya Anna Yojana), and PHH (Priority Household) categories have yet to approach either their designated Fair Price Shops, the Department of CS & CA, or the respective Supply Units in the inter-islands to update their e-KYC information.
The Department is once again urging these beneficiaries to visit their nearest Fair Price Shops with their Aadhaar numbers to complete the process. It is important for all family members listed on the ration card to have their e-KYC updated by the new deadline of October 31, 2024. Failure to do so will result in the concerned members being declared as bogus, and further action will be taken in accordance with relevant rules and regulations.
For added convenience, beneficiaries can also visit the Directorate of CS & CA at Sri Vijay Puram, Room No. 20, or their respective Supply Units to update their e-KYC. Lists of those who are yet to complete the process have been made available at their respective Fair Price Shops.
In addition to this, the Department has reported that a considerable number of AAY and PHH children between the ages of 1 to 17 years have been unable to complete their e-KYC because their Aadhaar enrolment was done before the age of five. These children’s Aadhaar details must be updated at the nearest Aadhaar Enrolment Centres without delay. The Department is actively organising Aadhaar camps, and parents or guardians can also visit the Directorate of CS & CA for assistance with updating Aadhaar details for children in this age group.
For further inquiries or assistance, beneficiaries are encouraged to contact the department via the toll-free number 03192-230337.
All eligible beneficiaries are advised to comply with the new deadline to ensure continued access to ration supplies and avoid potential action.
