A critical review meeting on telecommunication infrastructure was recently conducted under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner, North & Middle Andaman, Mr. Dilkhush Meena, IAS. The meeting saw the participation of key representatives from major telecom service providers, including Reliance Jio, Airtel, BSNL, and Vodafone Idea (VI).
During the session, telecom representatives provided updates on their progress in enhancing connectivity in remote areas. They highlighted efforts such as the laying of Optical Fibre Cables, the erection of new towers, and improvements in coverage.
The primary focus of the meeting was to evaluate the current state of telecommunication services within the district and to accelerate ongoing projects, particularly the upgrade to 4G services. This upgrade aims to significantly improve connectivity and service quality for the residents of North & Middle Andaman.
Deputy Commissioner Meena assured the telecom companies of full support from the District Administration to ensure timely implementation of these initiatives. He emphasized the importance of these projects in bridging the digital divide and enhancing the quality of life for the local population.
The meeting concluded with a reinforced commitment to expedite telecommunication projects and improve infrastructure, ensuring better connectivity for all residents in the region.
