In a significant development, Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastava, a distinguished Indian Police Service (IPS) officer belonging to the AGMUT Cadre of 1995, has been appointed as the new Director General of Police (DGP) for the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, issued the order for the transfer and postings of several high-ranking police officials.
Mr. Srivastava brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role, having previously served as the Director General of Police in Mizoram.
In a simultaneous move, the current Director General of Police for Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Mr. Neeraj Thakur, has been transferred to Delhi.
Furthermore, Mr. Anil Shukla, an IPS officer of the AGMUT Cadre (1996), currently holding the position of Additional Director General of Police (HQ/ACU) in the Andaman and Nicobar Police, has been transferred to Mizoram as the new Director General of Police.
