DGP Inaugurates Cutting-Edge Language Lab at Police Training School in Prothrapur

In a significant stride toward modernising law enforcement techniques, Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands, inaugurated a cutting-edge ‘Language Lab’ at the Police Training School in Prothrapur on January 10, 2024.

During his address to the assembled police personnel, Mr. Srivastva underscored the pivotal role of technology in elevating the skills and capabilities of the dedicated workforce of the Andaman & Nicobar Police. Emphasising the importance of the Language Lab, he highlighted its potential in enhancing communication skills, fostering better interactions, promoting tourism, and ultimately fortifying law enforcement endeavours.

The Language Lab is poised to revolutionise the traditional methods of language learning for the police force, offering state-of-the-art tools and resources. This initiative aligns closely with the broader objective of bolstering the overall proficiency of law enforcement officers in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands across all facets.

One of the primary goals of establishing the Language Lab is to enhance the language prowess of police personnel, directly impacting the creation of a seamless and positive experience for tourists visiting the islands. Effective communication forms a vital link between law enforcement authorities and tourists, fostering a sense of security and assistance.

The inaugural function witnessed the presence of Ms. Monika Bhardwaj, IPS, Deputy Inspector General of Police, and Ms. Varsha Sharma, IPS, Principal of PTS.
