Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police, A&N Islands, inaugurated the Children’s Traffic Park in Diglipur on August 7, 2024. This new park aims to educate children about traffic rules and safety through engaging and interactive experiences. One of its highlights is the innovative e-learning kiosk “Gyan Kendra,” complemented by the vibrant “Kalpong Kafe” cafeteria, creating a unique destination for children and families.

The Children’s Traffic Park offers a dynamic environment where kids can learn about traffic rules and signs in a fun way. It features a cycle track with cycles for all ages, allowing children to practice road safety rules in a simulated setting. The “Gyan Kendra” e-learning kiosk is equipped with a screen projector, tablets, and laptops, offering quizzes of varying difficulty levels, educational games, and informative videos.

In addition to traffic education, the park includes an adventure and sports area designed to develop problem-solving skills, team spirit, leadership qualities, and a culture of outdoor activity among children. The space also features blackboards and an open amphitheater surrounded by nature, providing a venue for creative activities and performances.

Kalpong Kafe, situated within the park, offers a cool and comfortable place for families to relax and enjoy a variety of snacks, enhancing their visit with an opportunity for relaxation and refreshment.

DGP Srivastva emphasized that the Traffic Park is a significant community effort, developed in-house by the Andaman and Nicobar Police. He highlighted the contributions of many community members, making it a model of police-public relations. The DGP’s vision of building a strong reputation with the public, focusing on community outreach, and serving society has been a driving force behind this project.
