In a significant step towards modernising the governance model in the Andaman and Nicobar (A&N) Police, Mr. Devesh Chandra Srivastva, IPS, Director General of Police (DGP), inaugurated the “QR Code-Based Government Property Inventory & Management System” at the India Reserve Battalion (IRBn) headquarters. The event marked a pivotal moment in the adoption of advanced e-governance tools within the police force.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by several senior officers of the Andaman and Nicobar Police, including Ms. Sindhu Pillai A, IPS, Inspector General of Police (IGP), and Ms. Monika Bharadwaj, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) of the IRBn.

The newly introduced QR Code system is a groundbreaking advancement in the management of government assets. By utilising state-of-the-art technology, the system will transform the tracking and monitoring of government properties, ensuring a more efficient and transparent process. Each asset will now be tagged with a unique QR code, facilitating easy retrieval of information about its location, status, and usage.

The successful development, implementation, and maintenance of this system were driven by the commendable efforts of Sub-Inspector (Wireless) Alok Kumar Singh and Head Constable (Wireless) E. Chander Sekhar of the IRBn. Their contributions have been crucial in the realisation of this transformative initiative.

Under the leadership of DGP Srivastva, numerous e-initiatives have been undertaken across various units of the A&N Police, aligning with the broader “Digital India” campaign. The implementation of the QR Code System in the IRBn is a testament to the ongoing efforts to modernise policing capabilities.

The inauguration event saw participation from officers and staff of the IRBn and A&N Police. The entire event was organised by Mr. Naveen Kumar, Deputy Commandant of the IRBn, under the supervision of Ms. Shweta K Sugathan, IPS, Commandant of the India Reserve Battalion.

This initiative represents a significant leap towards enhanced governance and operational efficiency within the IRBn, setting a benchmark for future technological integrations.
