Mr. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal, IPS, Director General of Police, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, conducted a strategic visit to the Look Out Post (LOP) at East Island. Accompanied by Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police for the North and Middle Andaman District, Mr. Dhaliwal’s visit emphasized the crucial role of the LOP in safeguarding the islands against foreign poachers and ensuring coastal security across the region.
During his visit, Mr. Dhaliwal assessed the current security arrangements at the post, identifying areas for enhancement to strengthen the protection along the coastline. He reviewed the logistical support necessary for the police personnel stationed at the LOP, underscoring the importance of providing adequate resources to maintain operational effectiveness.
In a show of solidarity, Mr. Dhaliwal engaged with the guard personnel deployed at East Island, expressing his commitment to their support and commending their dedication. Acknowledging the challenges faced by the personnel, who often spend extended periods away from their families, he praised their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the borders of the islands.
In a gesture of camaraderie, Mr. Dhaliwal shared a meal with the personnel, fostering a sense of unity over lunch. To further boost morale, he distributed sweets as a symbol of gratitude and appreciation for their hard work and vigilance.
This visit underscores the commitment of the Andaman and Nicobar Police Department to reinforce coastal security while ensuring the welfare of its personnel stationed in remote and strategic locations.
