In view of the General Elections to Lok Sabha-2024, the Chief Electoral Officer has bolstered the Voter Helpline services to facilitate easier access to authentic information regarding all aspects of elections for citizens. The Voter Helpline number, 1950, has undergone enhancements to ensure a wide array of services are readily accessible to the public.

Now, citizens from all corners of the Islands can dial the toll-free number 1950 at any time of the day to seek assistance or register complaints. The revamped services cover a spectrum of inquiries, including the voter registration process, verification of personal information on the Electoral Roll, Electors Photo Identification Card (EPIC), election schedules, online registration procedures, details of designated Polling Stations, and contact information of District Election Officers, Electoral Registration Officers, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers, and Booth Level Officers.

Mr. B S Jaglan, IAS, the Chief Electoral Officer of Andaman & Nicobar Islands, urged all citizens to remain vigilant and report any instances of illegal activities during the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) period. He emphasized that citizens should promptly report any attempts of bribery, or incidents of threats or intimidation towards electors. Reports can be lodged through the 24 x 7 toll-free number 1950. Additionally, Mr. Jaglan encouraged citizens to utilize the cVIGIL App, empowering them to serve as the eyes and ears of the Election Commission.

The initiative aims to streamline the electoral process and ensure transparency and integrity in the democratic exercise. As the nation gears up for the Lok Sabha-2024 Elections, these measures underscore the commitment of electoral authorities to uphold the democratic principles and facilitate active participation of citizens in the electoral process.
