The District Industries Centre (DIC), under the Department of Industries, will organize a series of Awareness-cum-Motivational Programmes on the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and other government-sponsored schemes, starting from the end of the second week of October 2025.
The programmes will be conducted across various parts of Shaheed Dweep in collaboration with Gram Panchayats, line departments, and banks. They aim to provide unemployed individuals with information and guidance on self-employment opportunities under schemes implemented by the government, including PMEGP.
Participants will receive hands-on assistance in filling applications for different schemes, along with guidance on mandatory documentation. Completed applications will be collected on-site and uploaded to the online PMEGP portal. After verification, they will be forwarded to the respective banks for financial assistance.
Unemployed residents interested in establishing self-employment ventures in the manufacturing, service, or trading sectors under the PMEGP scheme are encouraged to attend the programme. Participants should bring documents such as Aadhaar Card, local certificate, category certificate, and educational qualification certificates.
