DIET and HumaneTouch NGO Collaborate for a One-day Awareness Training Program on Mental Health for DIET Trainees

In a collaborative effort between the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) and HumaneTouch NGO, a one-day awareness training program on Mental Health and Moral Values and Ethics was successfully organised for trainees at DIET, Garacharma. The event, which unfolded at the DIET Auditorium, commenced at 9:30 am on January 31, 2024.

Ms. Sheela Devi, a respected faculty member at DIET, set the tone for the program with a warm welcome, fostering an environment of openness and learning. Mr. M Nehru, the Principal of DIET, followed with insightful thoughts and words of encouragement, inspiring the gathering.

Taking centre stage, Mr. P Mujib Rehman, the Working President of HumaneTouch NGO, introduced the organisation and highlighted its significant contributions in the realms of education, health, and anti-drugs and alcoholism initiatives.

Addressing the attendees, Mrs. Sajida Bano, Principal of DAP School, delivered a compelling speech underscoring the critical importance of mental health and its immediate attention, stressing the need to prioritize well-being in educational settings.

The program’s richness continued with a thought-provoking video documentary titled “Minds Matter,” presented by HumaneTouch, which not only captivated the audience’s attention but also sparked meaningful conversations on the crucial subject of mental health.

Adding academic expertise to the discussion, Mrs. Ayushi Pal, a Research Scholar from Pondicherry University, enlightened participants on moral values and ethics, emphasizing the groundwork for ethical and principled conduct in both educational and personal spheres.

Mr. Govind Raju, a faculty member at DIET, concluded the program with heartfelt gratitude, extending a warm vote of thanks to all participants, organisers, and contributors for making the event a resounding success.

The one-day awareness training program served as an invaluable platform for fostering dialogue, awareness, and understanding on critical topics, shaping the holistic development of individuals within the education sector.
