Diglipur Police Seizes 1.310 Kilograms Ganja, Arrests One Individual

In a relentless effort to combat the illegal trade of ganja in the North & Middle Andaman District, PS Diglipur has once again demonstrated its commitment to eradicating drug peddlers from the region.

Based on credible information received at PS Diglipur, it was reported that Nasirudin Sekh was in possession of a substantial quantity of contraband ganja, which he had stored in his residence located at Subashgram Ward No. 5. In response to this intelligence, a raiding team swiftly mobilised, comprising Inspector K. Binoj, the Station House Officer of PS Diglipur, along with Police Constables Radhesam Hawlader, Abubacker Siddique, Samresh Mistry, Soma Dey, and Mrithunjay Das. Additionally, two independent witnesses were present during the operation, all operating under the supervision of Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Diglipur.

During the raid on the accused’s residence, authorities successfully recovered a significant quantity of illicit ganja, weighing approximately 1.310 kilograms. The contraband was found in the possession of Nasirudin Sekh, aged 35, and a resident of Subashgram Ward No. 5. Subsequently, Nasirudin Sekh was placed under arrest, and a case was registered against him under the relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act at PS Diglipur.

The dedication and relentless efforts of the raiding team at PS Diglipur have resulted in a substantial seizure of illicit ganja, furthering the mission to curb the illegal drug trade in the region.

The entire operation was conducted under the watchful supervision of Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, and with the overarching guidance of Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police for the North & Middle Andaman District.

The district police maintain a strict policy of zero tolerance towards organised crime, including the illegal drug trade. The identity of informants will be kept confidential, and suitable rewards may be provided as an incentive for cooperation.
