In a swift and efficient response, the Diglipur Police successfully solved a theft case within just two hours of the complaint being lodged. A resident of Sitanagar, Diglipur, reported the theft of cash from an almirah in his home on 14th September. The complaint was registered at Police Station Diglipur, and an FIR was filed under the relevant sections of the BNS-2023.
Acting immediately, the police launched a comprehensive investigation, gathering critical clues about the suspect. Under the leadership of Inspector Vijay Kumar, SHO of PS Diglipur, a special team was formed, including SI Mohd Rafique and constables Bijoy Sarkar, Sushen Das, and Soma Dey. The team initiated an extensive search of possible hideouts, working tirelessly to track down the suspect.
Within a short span of time, the team apprehended the suspect, identified as a minor boy. Following proper legal procedures, the minor was questioned, and during the inquiry, he confessed to committing the theft. The stolen cash was recovered from his possession. The case is still under further investigation.
This rapid resolution showcases the efficiency and dedication of the Diglipur Police in ensuring the safety and security of its citizens. The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, and was closely monitored by Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North and Middle Andaman District.

Informers’ identities will be kept confidential, and they will be suitably rewarded for their cooperation in maintaining law and order in the community.
