In a significant achievement, the District Administration of North & Middle Andaman, along with its subordinate Revenue Offices, has been awarded the ISO 9001:2015 certification, a globally recognised standard for quality management systems. This prestigious certification underscores the Administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing efficiency, transparency, and public service delivery.
The certification ceremony was virtually inaugurated on 10th September 2024, by Mr. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar (A&N) Administration. The event saw the presence of several high-ranking officials, including Dr. Dilraj Kaur, IAS, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, A&N Administration, and Mr. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Deputy Commissioner of the North & Middle Andaman District.
During his address, the Chief Secretary commended the District Administration for its dedication to maintaining high standards of governance and service delivery. He emphasised that the ISO 9001:2015 certification is not merely a recognition but also a responsibility to uphold and continuously improve quality processes. “This achievement reflects the district’s unwavering commitment to the principles of good governance, transparency, and excellence in public service,” he stated.
Mr. Dilkhush Meena expressed his gratitude to the Chief Secretary and the Commissioner for their continuous support and guidance, which he credited as instrumental in the district’s ability to meet and exceed quality benchmarks. He reiterated the district’s ongoing commitment to quality and effective governance, ensuring that all services provided to the public adhere to the highest standards.
The ISO 9001:2015 certification is a benchmark for organisations worldwide, ensuring that they meet the needs of their stakeholders through effective quality management systems. The District Administration’s receipt of this certification confirms its adherence to these principles, particularly in executing revenue and administrative functions with efficiency and transparency.
The virtual event, which also included participation from the Assistant Commissioner of Rangat and representatives from Diglipur Tehsil, marked a proud moment for the district. This achievement is expected to further motivate the District Administration to continue striving for excellence in public service delivery.
