District Administration Conducts Eviction Drives to Curb Land Encroachment in South Andaman District

District Administration of South Andaman District has intensified its efforts to combat encroachments on Government lands, carrying out eviction drives in Port Blair Tehsil. During the recent drive, several encroachments in the form of temporary sheds at South Point village near wireless quarters and APWD quarters under Port Blair Tehsil were removed, along with a house and plantation at Shyamnagar Village, Swaraj Dweep. Approximately 1000 square meters of land have been reclaimed by the government with the assistance of Patwari, Patwari Assistant, and CDVs in the Tehsil.

The Revenue Authorities have been maintaining strict vigilance and monitoring, resulting in the recovery of 8000 square meters of land from encroachment by unscrupulous elements in South Andaman District.

Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman has issued a stern warning to the public, emphasizing the administration’s zero tolerance towards encroachment on Government land. Residents are urged to refrain from encroaching on Government property.
