District Administration of North and Middle Andaman District, led by Deputy Commissioner Dilkhush Meena, IAS, continues its determined efforts in the ongoing encroachment eviction drive. Revenue officials are actively engaged in reclaiming public and government lands across the district from illegal encroachments.
In the latest operation on May 18, 2024, authorities targeted fresh encroachments on government revenue land in Sitanagar village, Diglipur. The illegal Arecanut plantation was removed, restoring approximately 6,000 square meters of land to the government’s ownership. The operation was carried out by a team comprising the Revenue Inspector, Patwari, and other revenue field staff of Diglipur tehsil.
The District Administration has announced that similar exercises will be conducted regularly to prevent any further encroachment on government land, emphasizing their commitment to maintaining the integrity of public properties.
