In a continued effort to safeguard government land and ensure its proper use, the District Administration of South Andaman carried out an anti-encroachment drive on Wednesday at Muslim Basti village under Ferrargunj Tehsil.

During the operation, authorities identified and removed illegal fencing and temporary sheds constructed over approximately 4,000 square metres of government land. The encroached area, which fell under government khata, was successfully restored to its original condition.

The drive was conducted peacefully and in close coordination with Revenue officials, local police, and enforcement staff, with no law-and-order issues reported during the operation.

The District Administration has reiterated its firm stance against unauthorized occupation of public land and urged citizens to refrain from encroaching upon government property. Officials emphasized the importance of public cooperation in protecting community resources and upholding the rule of law.

The Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman reiterated that the administration maintains zero tolerance towards encroachment and that such operations will continue wherever illegal occupation is found.

For any inquiries or to report illegal encroachments, the public may contact the District Control Room at 03192-240127, 238881, 1070, or WhatsApp at 9531888844. Authorities assured that the identity of informants will be kept confidential to ensure their safety.
